What is Taekwondo?

Tae Kwon-Do is a traditional yet practical Korean martial art, well known for it’s competitors superior and spectacular kicking abilities. It uses a range of dynamic and skilful attacks with both the hands and feet. It is rapidly becoming one of the worlds most popular practised martial arts and it’s growth worldwide has given it Olympic recognition as well as other large scale internationally recognised competitions.

Tae Kwon-Do is a very complete form of physical exercise, it provides anaerobic conditioning (developing muscle tone) as well as aerobic conditioning (strengthening the cardiovascular system);

Who is Tae Kwon-Do suitable for?

Tae Kwon-Do training is geared around the individual and age and ability are taken into account. This means that no-one is excluded.

Tae Kwon-Do training can begin as early as 5 and continue for an entire lifetime. Students can begin training in their 50’s or 60’s and still reap tremendous rewards from Tae Kwon-Do

What will I gain from Tae Kwon Do?

Every student gets something different from Tae Kwon Do, but mainly you will gain more confidence, improved coordination, get fitter, stronger and lose excess weight and make new friends! We have found that the structure of Tae Kwon Do greatly helps people with Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism.
