Facilities

"I have always wanted to offer my students the best and not just take their training fees. As soon as I first thought about opening my own gym I knew that I wanted to give my students the same facilities I would have liked when I was training. I would have liked to punch a couple of bags, used stretching aids, mirrors to check patterns, have showers, and stuff like that. I wanted to train in a room where there wasn’t a five-a-side football team waiting to come in straight afterwards. I used to hate that. So I set about building foundations for the future. I came out of the Sports Centres I had always trained in and got my own place. I knew the studio I wanted had to be lavishly decorated, and this is what I aimed for. Comfortable surroundings enhance training, and give the student the feeling of warmth. I put in a lot of time and effort to achieve this and by the time I had finished I was satisfied that what we had done had worked, and worked well."

The club also offers fantastic support whatever your grade. As students rise through the grades they learn from their peers and in turn, as they progress, they pass this knowledge on. There is a good mixture of grades within the club and several good black belts of various degrees so no matter what your grade there will always be someone who can help you.

Student safety is of paramount importance, when you are training you can rest assured that you are in safe hands. From the beginning you are taught good technique, this will help reduce the risk of injuring yourself. Safety equipment is worn during sparring to reduce the risk of someone injuring you. Control is emphasised every step of the way and underpins the philosophy of training, when sparring victories are obtained through technical skill not through brute force and ignorance. The gym is set up to reduce the risk of injuries the main hall is warm to reduce risk of pulled muscles, there are mats for sparring to reduce the risk of injury should a student fall and the lessons are constantly supervised.
